Diet Fitness Program-Achieving Your Diet Fitness Goals Through Running

By Josh Neumann

Why do so many people fail to achieve their fitness goals? First of all, they don’t have a plan for how to get started, and how they intend to accomplish those targets. It’s not entirely their fault, actually.

There are so many different diet fitness program options available nowadays, information overload is easier than ever. As a result, many people fail to identify the right workouts that will help them achieve their fitness goals the quickest

There is no better workout to stay in shape than running. Long before weights, fitness equipment and home gyms were invented, the way human beings kept fit was simply running.

There are several benefits to running that are not easily replicable with other workouts. First of all, you can run anywhere, anytime you want to. Even if you don’t believe that you have enough time during the day to exercise, make time. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Run between your car and your work building. Run at lunch time. If you really can’t run at those times or anytime during the day, purchase a treadmill and run when you get home.

No matter how busy you think you are, there is always time to run. All you really need is a good 20 minutes of vigorous running every day to keep your body active and alert.

Another suggestion is to conduct your workout outdoors. Exercising outside can help you achieve your fitness quickly and enjoyable. Let’s face it-after spending the day inside, being outside always has a rejuvenating effect on the mind and body.

When you begin to jog outdoors, you will find yourself anticipating your workout throughout the day; this will likely cause you to achieve your results much faster. Before you hit the trails, however, make sure you know the area you will be running in, especially if it’s wooded. Many runners have gotten lost because of a failure to simply acquaint themselves with the trail and the area they will be jogging in.

Come prepared for bad weather. If a sudden rainstorm or even snowstorm hits in the middle of your workout, simply brining a few extra layers of clothing will make a big difference.

The bottom line is, when you are first ready to embark on an exercise program, there is nothing better for your body than running. Jogging outdoors can be a great motivator to get you through the day and actually help you to accomplish your fitness goals much fester. The most important thing is to get started on your diet fitness program today.

All too many people set goals for getting fit, but fail to achieve them. When the time actually comes to take action, they put it off until tomorrow. Tomorrow becomes the next day, and the next, and so on.

Pretty soon, they decide just to forget it completely. When you make your workouts fun and enjoyable, the drudgery will be gone and you will find that getting started (and finishing) your workout is no problem at all.

Burn Fat Quicker with the Perfect Cardio Workout!

Copyright (c) 2010 Bryan Carlton

You are probably like most people wanting to find that perfect cardio workout to burn fat quickly. The nice thing is that you have a few different approaches that you can take. The most common approach is low intensity cardio training.

The reason low intensity cardio is so popular, is because it will take most of the calories from your bodies fat reserves. So why don’t people want to use high intensity cardio, they feel that if they work too hard, that they will burn carbohydrates as energy and not the bodies fat stores.

The truth is, that you will always burn more fat during any type of High Intensity Interval Cardio or HIIT for short. When you burn more calories than you consume, you are creating a calorie deficit. When creating a caloric deficit we need to reduce our calorie count by 3500 calories in order to lose one pounf of fat.

Low intensity cardio, is the most common form of cardio that is pushed by almost every personal trainer, friends, fitness gurus and fitness enthusiasts. The reason low intensity cardio works so well, is that it targets your bodies fat. If the body burns fat for energy, you will lose body fat.

This is the reason that it is so important to choose the right type of cardio equipment , and that it can track your heart rate. This will allow you to monitor your heart rate during your cardio workout and allow you to hit that ideal intensity level.

Once started on a treadmill, cross trainer, etc. for about 10 minutes or so, you will be close to reaching your ideal heart rate. You will want to stay within this target heart rate for at least another 30 minutes to maximize your cardio workout.

On the other hand, HIIT is one of the less utilized forms of cardio. This type of cardio makes you push past your mental block and pain threshold, hens the reason few people choose this route. If done properly, you will get great results in burning body fat. This will allow you to burn a great deal more calories verses any type of low intensity workouts.

As mentioned above, low intensity cardio will burn body fat. The downside is that you waste the first 10 minutes getting your heart rate up. It is very hard for a person to maintain a high rate of cardio for extended periods of time. You are probably only able to do 10 to 15 minutes of this extremely difficult cardio.

However, the solution is to combine both cardio workouts into one routine. So for the first ten minutes of your workout, you will want to start out at the high intensity level. Once you have pushed yourself for 10 to 15 minutes and have a good sweet going, switch gears to the low cardio workout and continue for another 20 to 30 minutes. You will be able to burn more calories, creating a greater calorie deficit, and lose that extra weight.

Cybex Arc Trainer vs Elliptical Trainers

By Jim Kesel

Cybex Arc Trainers are a great piece of fitness equipment. The development of the elliptical trainer has transformed the fitness centers and gyms across the country. The ability to do a full body workout with little or no impact allows you to burn more calories by exercising a larger group of muscles on your body. Elliptical trainers are in many cases replacing treadmills in local gyms and YMCA’s. When elliptical trainers first appeared the feel of using this new piece of fitness equipment was compared to running on air. However some users had trouble using the new cross trainers. Probably the largest complaint came in the form of knee discomfort. Almost the entire body motion on an elliptical trainer is through the knee. If you have a preexisting knee injury then the use of an elliptical trainer was at times uncomfortable. Some people would even warmed up their knees on a treadmill prior to climbing on an elliptical trainer. However if you talk to most elliptical trainer users you will find very few complaints. One additional problem comes from users that lean to far forward while using an elliptical machine. This puts undue strain on the back leading to cramps or post exercise back pain. Correct posture while using any piece of fitness equipment is important and this is especially true when using any cross trainer. Cybex has created a new cross trainer called the Arch Trainer that seeks to change the fundamental motion used in most ellipticals.

The Cybex Arc Trainer comes in several models all of which are considered commercial grade fitness equipment. They are priced accordingly with even the in home models exceeding $4000.00. Most people first come in contact with the Cybex Arc Trainer in their local fitness center or gym. Its flywheel is located at the front of the arc trainer just like the older Cybex elliptical trainers. The location of the pedals appears to be located slightly further to the rear of the arc trainer then you would find on many elliptical trainers. Upon mounting the arc trainer you almost immediately find that you are standing in a more upright position. As you begin to make your stride you will feel your hips doing more of the work. Most people find that using the Cybex Arc Trainer is slightly more comfortable then using some elliptical trainers. The incline feature of the Cybex Arc Trainer is really nice and easy to use. A thirty minute workout provides essentially the same workout as a top quality elliptical trainer with adjustable incline features. It appears to work all the same muscle groups that an elliptical trainer impact. The Cybex Arc Trainer handle bars work in the same motion as your feet do. Basically as the left foot goes forward so does the left handle bar in a very natural cross country skiing motion.

Cybex Arc Trainers are built to last and have lots of features that make them a premier piece of fitness equipment. The console is nicely setup and it has up to 12 exercise routines with varying resistance levels similar to many quality elliptical trainers. The biggest drawback to the Cybex Arc Trainer is the price. For the average fitness enthusiast it would be a major investment to purchase a Cybex Arc Trainer for in home use. A quality elliptical trainer provides the same exercise benefits as the Cybex Arc Trainer at less that half the price. If you really want to use the Cybex Arc Trainer as part of your exercise program we suggest you look for a fitness center that already has them.

Personal Trainers Things to Look For in One

By Pete Malcolm

More people than ever before are out of shape and this can affect their health over the long term. Joining a gym and starting an exercise program is usually what most people will do. The biggest problem with this method is they will not stick with it. After a few weeks most individuals tend to get bored and give up. This is why more and more individuals are looking into personal trainers as an alternative. This professional can keep you motivated and moving in the right direction. Here are some things to look for when you decide to hire this individual.

One of the first things you will want to look at is educational background. When hiring this individual you will want to learn what kind of training they have gone through. A college degree is not necessary, but they need to have training through a reputable organization. Talk with them and learn all the educational background they happen to have to help you decide better.

Always hire someone that has first aid and CPR training. Most individuals will have this type of training, but it is always a good idea to make sure they do. While you train you never know what could happen, so you want a person that is well trained in both of these areas.

Check into what kind of experience that they also have when hiring someone. The more experience the better, but ask about their successes and how long they have been doing it. Always make sure they have plenty of experience in the area that you need. No sense of hiring someone with little experience in the area of expertise you need.

You need to hire someone who is also a good listener. The reason for this is you need to interact with your trainer. This way you can tell him or her what is working and what is not. It also will help you tell what you want to get done and the goals you want to reach. If they are not a good listener it is must to look for someone else.

Hire a focused trainer over one who may not be. You want somebody who will be focused on your training while they are with you. The more focused they happen to be on your success the better chance you will succeed. Make sure the person you hire is focused on you and you only.

Find a trainer that tracks your progress as well. You need to know where you are at and how well you are doing. Most trainers will do this, but some will not. Hire someone who tracks how you are doing as this will help you reach your overall goals.

Personal trainers these days are a vital part of you reaching your goals. Most of the time people try to go it alone and they never reach or get done what they want. By following some of the suggestions above you should have no problem hiring a great person for the job.
